Rochester Hills, MI- Oakland Hockey general manager Corey Hagood has announced that forward Brandon Ashley has committed to Oakland. Ashley will help add another playmaking forward for head coach Nick Field, assistant coach Aaron Hundt and assistant coach Nick Tomczyk.
Ashley comes to Oakland from the Lansing Wolves (USPHL Premier) where he scored 18 goals and 45 assists. He recorded a total of 63 points in his time with the Wolves. Ashley was second on the Wolves in points behind Brendan Smith, another Oakland commit.
“I chose Oakland, because it’s close to home, very affordable, and has an amazing campus.” Ashley stated.
Oakland held its early signing day this weekend at the ONYX Ice Arena. The Golden Grizzlies have seven new commits we will be announcing. Coach Field and his staff are also still on the recruiting trail, with a few more spots open on next season’s roster.
He will be a player who works hard to get the job done on the ice. “I am a hard working two hundred foot player, who is willing to do whatever it takes to get a win.” Ashley added.
Oakland’s coaching staff continues on the recruiting trail to fill the remaining spots on next season’s roster.
